About the role

Experienced Technical Lead required in the North Technology team- must have strong C#, VB.net, ASP.net, SQL Server 2016 or higher, XML, HTML, Jscript, Visual Studio, and Microsoft Toolsets experience and knowledge of the superannuation domain knowledge.  


Key Responsibilities

The main focus areas of the role are:

  • Work with the Platform Development Manager(s) and broader Platform Technology Team to plan and deliver change
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and delegates to understand and clarify business objectives
  • Manage risks and issues that arise in the development process
  • Support the development of business cases by coordinating production of estimates
  • Formulate strategies to resolve issues and capitalise of business opportunities
  • Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes
  • Determine the high-level design principle and approach to delivery that address the established need
  • Coordinate development resources and contribute to delivery of the solution through technical design, software development and configuration and testing
  • Coordinate development resources through technical design, software development/configuration and testing of solutions
  • Solution development through technical design, design review, software development/configuration, code review and testing activities
  • Work with peers at all stages of the SDLC to deliver the best possible outcome for our stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the testing team to ensure both functional and non-functional areas are considered and tested through the QA process
  • Build and foster effective relationships with Business and IT teams internally and externally
  • Ensure best practice principles in software development are applied to solution development

Experience required

  • 5+ years experience as a Senior Developer / Tech Lead / Technical Architect in a product development environment
  • Prior experience in a mentor / Team Lead role responsible for technical resources
  • Experience in developing software solutions for financial applications within the Investment Management industry
  • Experience across the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong knowledge of the following technologies (C#, VB.net, ASP.net, SQL Server 2016 or higher, XML, HTML, Jscript, Visual Studio, and Microsoft Toolsets)
  • Excellent understand of code versioning tools (GIT, TFS)
  • Experience in web application frameworks
  • Experience in Windows Presentation Framework and Services Framework
  • Proficiency in creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Expert understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR)
  • Management of data conversion and software enhancement and development projects
  • Experience with aligning business strategic planning with IT strategic planning
  • Experience using JIRA/Confluence
  • Experience across the software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Qualification/s required

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and relevant industry experience

Project Delivery:

  • Strong understanding of the Superannuation and Investment Platform markets
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance the investment platform
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in applications to meet changing user requirements
  • Ability to engage with other technology and business teams to understand their objectives and guide in delivery of solutions on the platform
  • Ability to identify and manage development risk and issues
  • Ability to formulate plans and strategies to deliver to multiple stakeholders across multiple initiatives
  • Strong focus on application best practice software development practices
  • Commitment to high quality delivery of software to production
  • Provide assistance and advice to business users in the effective use of the platform

 

Relationship Management:

  • Ensure you have a strong internal network covering all technology teams (including development portfolios and architecture)
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their plans and ensure they are considered in strategic planning and solution delivery
  • Strong focus on supporting Operations through definition and delivery of a robust and resilient platform
