Due to the continued high growth of our team in Europe we are now seeking a VAT Manager in London to manage VAT issues and risks across AMP Capital NW Region business, and for funds for which an AMP Capital entity is the manager or responsible entity, to achieve the best possible revenue outcomes and cashflows.
This is an exciting and broad-ranging position where you will be a true and trusted advisor to the business on VAT-related issues and opportunities. This will require working to implement practical systems and processes. The VAT Manager will be working closely with Risk and Governance teams to implement best practice in VAT risk management and governance; managing internal stakeholders regarding emerging industry, organisational and legal/regulatory issues which may give rise to VAT risk/pricing impact.
You will advise internal stakeholders (including fund managers, origination teams, finance and product teams) and manage external stakeholders including HMRC and external advisers.
The successful candidate will be degree qualified and will ideally possess a further tax accounting / legal qualifications. You will have at least 5+ years’ experience in a VAT advisory role with a deep technical understanding of VAT law and HMRC practice, preferably have familiarity with VAT systems in other European jurisdictions. You will also have excellent communication skills and be a good collaborator in order to influence effectively.
