About the role

In this role you will manage internal mergers and acquisition transactions by financial planning practices within our network) which includes the sale and acquisition of client registers and practices and the merger of practices.

This role is based in the iconic AMP Building at Circular Quay.

This team is up to 12 people of consultants who work closely with our Transaction Strategy Managers to ensure the deals are implemented efficiently and compliantly. The Consultants also engage with many of our service providers and other teams throughout the process to support our financial planning practices and Strategy team.

Duties

  • Case manage licensee buyback transitions and other M&A transitions within AMP Advice licensees.
  • Maintain transition framework integrity by guiding and ensuring all stakeholders adhere to the integration framework; this includes taking timely steps to resolve service delivery issues.
  • Manage transactions to a prescribed timeframe through every step of the process and working to problem solve or eliminate roadblocks to completion. This also includes managing any risks associated with any transitions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to ensure framework is effective
  • Collaborate with internal business partners and financial advisers to deliver an optimal transition experience for advisers and practices.

Skills & experience

  • Sound understanding of financial planning industry with 2+ years’ experience working with or supporting financial advisers and practices
  • Experience in delivering project outcomes in agreed timeframes
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and situational awareness with ability to appropriately adapt personal and leadership styles
  • Experience working in partnership with key stakeholders to deliver valued business outcomes (approx 30 stakeholders are involved in each transaction)
  • Growth mindset and focus on continuous improvement
  • Able to work in an agile way in a changing environment 
  • Ability to show resilience when having challenging conversation
