AMP Capital is a specialist investment manager with offices in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Hong Kong, India, London, Chicago, New York, California, Ireland and the Middle East. We are a leading global real estate and infrastructure manager and the combination of our scale, breadth and capability provides access to superior investment opportunities for our clients.
Sharing a heritage with AMP that spans more than 160 years, our home strength in Australia has enabled us to grow globally to be one of the largest investment managers in the Asia Pacific region. With offices located across four continents, our collaboration across regions allows us to leverage insights and provide greater access to new investment opportunities, helping us to create a range of firsts on behalf of our clients.
ESG thought processes are embedded in all that we do, and we were the first firm to launch an Australian Sustainable Share Fund (more than a decade ago).
As this role will have an impact on management of both Australian and global sustainable investment client solutions and equities, it could be based in either Sydney, London or Hong Kong office.
The main purpose of the role, in the short term, to analyse the investment implications of environmental, social and governance issues and sustainability drivers on Australian and global equities, and participate in and support client and company engagement activities undertaken by the Sustainable Investment Team.
Additionally, in the medium to long term, to be a key contributor in the development, establishment and ongoing portfolio management of both Australian and global sustainable investment client solutions, including fundamental bottom-up company analysis and stock selection, portfolio construction, client marketing and reporting.
- 5+ years of investment experience- either as an equity analyst or portfolio manager- of which at least a portion is in ESG, and preferably with some exposure to the Australian equity market.
- We recognise that a broad range of education backgrounds may provide relevant skills for this role. Undergraduate degrees in accounting, finance, environmental economics or environmental management would be ideal, but this is not an exhaustive list. The use of these skills within a sustainable investment context will be critical.
- Postgraduate qualifications/ certifications in sustainability, MBA, CFA or similar are preferred.
